Why We Dance Now is a ‘Sharing Your Soul’ of a New Era
Evolution Dance Studio is a new dance studio based in New York City.
Founder and CEO, Taylor M. Lee, tells Vice News the company is looking to change the dance landscape with its new studio.
“We want to change dance culture.
Dance is a way for people to be connected and inspired.
It’s a way to have fun,” Lee says.
The studio opened in late April and is the brainchild of two artists who love the way dance can be fun and unique.
Lee says one of their favorite things to do is dance with their friends.
“When we’re out in public, we dance and we talk about the music and what’s going on in the room,” he says.
“I think there’s a lot of that in dance now.”
Lee says dance is one of the most socially and emotionally powerful things.
The music has a lot to do with the way that people relate to each other.
“It’s not about who’s having fun, it’s about being connected.
And it’s a beautiful thing.”
Lee, a former music producer, says the studio is the first to offer a live studio.
It offers up to five performances a day.
It was founded by three dance professionals: choreographer Amy Shih, dancer Emily Stahl, and choreographer Nicki Kriep.
“Our first gig was a huge success and we had a huge amount of success in terms of the studio,” Lee said.
The dance studio has also expanded in recent months to offer classes, workshops, and dance classes for women and young people.
“If you want to learn how to dance, we have classes in all different kinds of places,” Lee added.
“That’s the way we’re going to go.”
In addition to its dance classes, Lee says the company offers a “deep dive into dance theory” and an in-depth look at the dance industry.
“There’s a ton of information out there,” Lee told Vice News.
“And we want to make that accessible and accessible to the world.
It would be a shame if we were to just not have a place for people like ourselves, who are in dance as a hobby.”
Lee says Evolution Dance Studios will soon launch an “Inclusion and Support” program, where dance classes will be offered to all genders and orientations.
He says that the company has a plan to offer more classes over time.
“We’re not just going to put on a show,” Lee continued.
“This is something that we’re committed to.”
Lee added that Evolution Dance will be a place where people can connect and have fun.
“The community will support you, and you’ll get to know people who love this and want to share their art.”
