Dance studio Seattle’s new dance studio
Seattle’s newest dance studio is ready to rock the scene, as the building has received the first green light from Seattle’s Downtown Development Authority.
The building, located at 607 Pine St., will be the first in the city to receive a Design Review from the DDA.
DDA Director Matt Pappas says the building was chosen because it’s close to downtown, has been designed in a way that it’ll be more attractive to artists and developers, and is within walking distance of the city’s transit system.
The studio will feature more than 100 members of the Seattle Dance Scene and the Seattle Art and Music Association.
Dancers will be able to work in a space with open-air dance floor and plenty of storage, as well as a communal area.
It will also feature a rooftop bar and a dance floor for up to 100 people.
The DDA also approved the building for a total of $1.2 million in Design Review funds.
It is scheduled to open in 2019.
